Data Finds Data

Another thoughtful piece from Jon Udell on how data finds data.  For those of you who know what “dog in the kitchen” means, this is a pretty exciting kitchen…

And for those of us who don’t? :-)

  3. It comes from something one of my brother’s profs said in a management course. Suppose you have two dogs: one likes to sleep in the living room, the other one likes to sleep in the kitchen. Which one is going to get fed more often? Pretty clearly, the one in the kitchen. The moral of the story is that success is often more about figuring out where the kitchen is than anything else — people who hang out where the most interesting/innovative/disruptive things are happening are the ones most likely to be in the right place at the right time to capitalize on it.
